What users think

In March 2024, we looked at reviews from Yooz customers on G2, TrustRadius, Capterra, and GetApp ratings sites. Overall, Yooz received average reviews, placing it roughly in the middle of the pack of AP automation providers. Users speak positively about the Yooz Rising user interface, responsive customer service, and flexible document management. On the other hand, users also note problems uploading invoices and extracting data, a steep learning curve, and challenges with reporting.

Let’s take a look.

Positive Yooz reviews

Here are Yooz’s strengths, as identified by customer reviews.

Good interface

Users generally like the Yooz Rising UX, saying it’s “easy to use,” according to one user, who praised its “user-friendly interface” and “reliable features.” Other users like the customizable features and level of automation. One called the platform “very well designed for its users…easy to use with a friendly and attractive interface,” and with “several features that solve most of our problems.”

However, some users report difficulty with changes to the interface. “For the most part Yooz is very intuitive and easy to navigate,” shared a G2 reviewer. They added, “with new updates I have been disappointed in the changes made while entering payables…I’ve been frustrated while entering lately due to these changes. I need to touch the mouse more often than before the updates and they slow me substantially.”

Good customer support

Customers speak positively about Yooz’s customer service, describing them as proactive, friendly, and helpful. “Customer support is excellent,” reported one Capterra reviewer. Another customer praised the Yooz customer support team, saying, “overall the team has been great and really worked with us…A++.”

Yooz customer service representatives are active on several review sites and respond to customer reviews.

Automated document management

Several users commented on Yooz’s automated document management functionality. One mentioned the search feature, which “helps our staff (especially non-accounting dept) by keeping copies of invoices in a database that allows for easy search.”

"Yooz has been quick at solving issues such as document backlog" - G2 Reviewer

One user mentioned that Yooz had helped them reduce paper invoices, saying, “We were looking for an option to electronically store invoices so we can quickly refer back to them…and to ease the amount of filing of paperwork in the office.”

Another mentioned how Yooz’s “smart workflows” allowed them to “click on different parts of the documents” to retrieve specific data. However, they also reported that the software sometimes misreads the document information.

Negative Yooz reviews

Problems uploading invoices and extracting data

Many users report problems with Yooz’s invoice scanning and data extraction functionality. One user mentioned invoice scanning issues with Yooz Rising, saying, “There is a lot of room for improvement.” For example, “The documents are not read better by the OCR, sometimes the documents flip to the wrong angle for unknown reasons (we’ve had meetings that have not resolved this), and duplicates are not always caught.” Another user said the scanned invoices were “really small when they are captured.”

Several users mention that Yooz imported invoice data incorrectly. “The OCR technology is a great feature if it worked properly,” said one customer. “If a vendor sends a scanned invoice, it doesn’t read the characters properly.”

“It cannot read all suppliers’ invoices and it selects the wrong vendor a lot,” shared another user, who also mentioned that Yooz doesn’t “catch all duplicate invoices.”

Steep learning curve

Customers report some difficulty getting started with Yooz. “It took a while to understand how it works,” said one user who had difficulty learning to use Yooz. Another user agreed: “The learning curve is steep,” and “the training video I watched did not prepare me to effectively use the product.”

Other users also complain about inadequate training. “It could be from a lack of training, but I do not understand the roles that are assigned through our organization,” said one administrator, who managed to learn to use the software “Through troubleshooting and talking to customer service.” Another reviewer from the automotive industry commented, “I think it would be more helpful if the Guided Tour was a little bit more informative.”

Some users describe a difficult onboarding process. “The implementation phase was a bad experience for us,” said one reviewer, who complained about “incorrect information” and delays due to poor communication from the implementation team.

Poor reporting functionality

Customers complain about the quality of Yooz’s reporting features. One user found the built-in reporting too simple, saying, “I do not like how the reports are very simple, yet do not include all options I would have expected.” Another reviewer commented, “I would have liked to see more intuitive reports on vendors.” Although they asked for specific reporting, they wanted the ability “to get valuable reporting at any time. Example: top 100 vendors by dollar value, not by number of invoices.”

The bottom line

User reviews say Yooz is an intuitive and flexible accounting automation platform with good customer support and powerful document management features. However, customer reviews suggest the platform may face invoice scanning and reporting limits. If you want an easy-to-implement, powerful, and reliable accounts payable automation solution, consider other options on the market.
