Senior Backend Engineer
About The Position
Stampli is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our ERP group and help power the financial infrastructure of thousands of businesses. This is a high-impact role in an AI-first company, where backend engineering meets intelligent automation. You’ll be building robust, scalable systems that integrate with top ERP platforms-ensuring seamless data flows and operational excellence.
As part of a team that embeds AI in every layer of our product and operations, you’ll contribute directly to cutting-edge financial technology solutions used by 1,600+ customers. Your code won’t just run-it’ll think smarter.
What You Will Do
- Champion AI-First Development: Leverage relevant development tools like Cursor, Codex, Copilot, and agent-based frameworks to accelerate development and optimize integrations.
- Engineer Seamless Integrations: Design and implement stable, resilient, high-performance connections between Stampli and 70+ leading ERP systems, forming the backbone of our AI-driven procure-to-pay platform.
- Own What You Build: Take full responsibility for features from ideation through production-ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- Think at Scale: Architect solutions that serve a rapidly growing user base with resilience, speed, and future-proof flexibility.
- Innovate Relentlessly: In our fast-paced, AI-powered environment, you’ll continuously evolve backend systems, experimenting with new patterns and tech to enhance system intelligence.
- Solve Complex Puzzles: Navigate ERP integration challenges with creativity and precision-where every obstacle is an opportunity to innovate.
- Be Customer-Obsessed: Partner closely with Product, Support, and QA to ensure your work translates to tangible customer impact.
What You Will Bring
- Strong focus on AI development: Proven experience leveraging AI-based development tools and automation platforms to drive intelligent backend systems.
- 5+ years of backend development experience in Java or C#
- Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure, system design, and API development
- Passion for building smart, scalable systems and solving hard problems
- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Bonus: ERP systems experience (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics) or exposure to financial platforms
